Cosmea is an unpretentious, light—loving and cold-resistant plant, propagated by seeds. It grows well on loose, garden, not too fertilized soils.

In the Russian-language horticultural literature, in addition to cosmea and cosmos, other variants of the genus name are used: Mexican aster, beauty.

Several species are distributed all over the world as ornamental garden plants.
