How fortunate I am to have incredible friends who understand that yes, five weeks after losing my Hailey, I am still not ok, and I don’t know when I will be. And that these same friends somehow know the magical words that will comfort me so much. Thank you, dear C & M. 💜..

I can’t tell you all how much your kind words have comforted me this past week. I haven’t felt composed enough to respond, but so many of you have given me hope through stories, advice, and love. In so many ways, you all have saved me. I can’t thank you all enough.

She was my star. I have no idea how I got lucky enough to be so exquisitely happy every day with her. She was just a little brown dog, but the hole she leaves in my heart is giant-sized.

This is the very worst thing I’ve ever had to write.
On Monday night, we said goodbye to my best friend, the love of my life, my heart.
Hailey had a mass bleeding in her abdomen, and the prognosis was not good. We made the most difficult decision - and one I am still agonizing over - to let her go peacefully, with limited pain and suffering.
I can’t believe this is happening after all we’ve been through. I feel like I’m in a nightmare I’ll never wake up from.
I appreciate any comforting words you might have, but please understand if I don’t read them for a while or respond. I am drowning in grief.
Thank you all for loving her. She was everything. She was my everything.
