BREAKING: The Pentagon summoned Pope Leo’s top diplomat and threatened him — and now the Pope is refusing to set foot in America.

This is not diplomacy. This is a mob shakedown.

New reporting reveals that Under Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby called Cardinal Christophe Pierre into the Pentagon and told him the United States has the military power to do “whatever it wants” — and that Pope Leo “better take its side.”

They even invoked the Avignon Papacy. That’s when the French Crown used military force to control the Pope in the 1300s. They used that as a threat. To the Vatican. In 2026.

Let that sink in. The Trump administration just compared itself to a medieval monarchy that militarily subjugated the Catholic Church — and meant it as a warning.

Why? Because Pope Leo gave a speech saying war was wrong. That diplomacy based on force was replacing real dialogue. That’s it. That’s the crime.

And the Pope’s response? He cancelled his US visit entirely.

The first American-born Pope in history was invited to celebrate America’s 250th birthday at the White House. Instead, on July 4th, he will be on a tiny Mediterranean island welcoming African refugees.

He didn’t storm off. He didn’t tweet. He just quietly chose migrants over a photo op with Trump. Let that image sit with you.

One Vatican official put it plainly: “The Pope may well never visit the United States under this administration.”

Trump’s team has now picked a fight with the Pope. The actual Pope. Because he said war is bad.

These people have lost the plot completely.
