From Santurce to Venice — REM Project arrives in Venice with the opening of its new gallery at Via Garibaldi 1735, reinforcing its long-term commitment to expanding cultural dialogue within the international contemporary art scene.
Rooted in a curatorial practice that moves between the Caribbean, Latin America, and the global art circuit, REM Project continues to develop through exhibitions, independent initiatives, and international collaborations.
In this context, we are pleased to present the Director of the Venice gallery Veronica Piras(.prs )
Curator and cultural manager specialized in international contemporary art, her practice spans production, curatorial direction, and the development of complex exhibition projects between Italy and abroad.
Throughout her career, she has led the full management of cultural projects: from research and artist selection to curatorial conception, production, communication, and coordination of teams and venues in international contexts.
Her experience includes participation in projects linked to major institutional contexts and international art events, contributing to a broad and global understanding of the contemporary art ecosystem.
Founder of PROJECT 374, she continues to develop independent initiatives dedicated to the research, production, and visibility of contemporary artists.
Today she assumes the directorship of the new REM Project gallery in Venice, conceived as a space for cultural production and curatorial thinking, focused on dialogue between the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, and the international contemporary art scene.

Congratulations to Artist Mónica Parada( )Within the framework of the Collateral Event Baile, Botella y Baraja - José Ruiz entre el Lienzo y la Botella y su Narración “Naif” de Puerto Rico, we proudly extend our congratulations and recognition to Puerto Rican artist Mónica Parada for her outstanding participation with the Consolato REM Brega!!!( )
Her meaningful contribution, through the sculptural tables featured in the Baraja & Domino Tournament, brings a powerful and thoughtful dimension to the exhibition. By integrating Caribbean social practices into such a significant international context as the Biennale di Venezia, her work fosters spaces of encounter, memory, and community. Her artistic approach not only engages in dialogue with José Ruiz’s work but also activates the exhibition through participatory and culturally rich experiences.
Mónica Parada once again demonstrates her commitment to identity, collectivity, and the expansion of Puerto Rican art beyond its borders. Her vision and creativity add a vibrant and contemporary layer to this important event.
Please accept our warmest congratulations on this achievement and for continuing to represent Puerto Rico’s talent and cultural richness on the global artistic stage.
Congratulations Monica. REM Brega!!!
