The most prominent reasons for the weakness of strawberry in the Gaza Strip.
• The entry of sterilization materials has banned over the past four years.

• The entry of the most important fertilizers for plants has banned, where the available alternative is not in the quality of forbidden fertilizer from entering.

• The entry of original strawberries with the first elites have banned, which farmers depend on it in agriculture.

Flowers haven’t been exported from the Gaza Strip for 3 years, due to the practices of the occupation, such as abrupt crossing closures and difficult measures being taken during the export process. These reasons reduced the cultivation of roses in the Gaza Strip.

The area of flower cultivation has shrunk from about 1,000 dunums in 2000 to less than 10 dunums in the past few years, as a result of ban on export by the Israeli Occupation. The cost for planting one dunum of flowers is about $9,000, and selling in the local market doesn't cover the expenses.
