Custom Caiaques

Took the boat out for a test today. It performed even better than expected and was so much fun! :) Got it planing with just a small 4hp motor and up to a maximum speed of 26.2kmh.

talking to a mate at work the other day about a little kids race boat he built once (not for a little kid!), we decided it would be fun to come up with our own designs, build them and have a race. they will be powered by a 4hp outboard and due to the small size and lightweight, hopefully they'll be quite nippy. this is what i currently have planned. its about 2.3m x 1m, will be made from just over 2 sheets of ply and should only weigh about 10-15kg.

www.customcaiaques.com now has links to translate the site into Portuguese, French, Spanish, German and Dutch. I'm trusting Google with this though, so if anyone can check the various languages to make sure I'm not accidently insulting anyones grandmother I'd appreciate it!
