This is Pico do Areeiro, one of the only spots in Madeira where you can drive above the clouds to watch the sunrise.
At 1,818 meters, it’s the island’s third-highest peak — and easily one of the most photographed.

☀️ The best time to go is around 6:30–7:00 a.m. in autumn. Bring a jacket — it gets chilly up here (around 10–12 °C at dawn). There’s a parking area near the viewpoint, and from there you can start the PR1 trail to Pico Ruivo if you’re feeling adventurous.
