Castle Combe Race Recap: GP23 Battles Challenging Conditions

Once again, GP23 started from the back of the grid and quickly climbed into second place. We were just behind , and we benefited from observing their racing lines. Besides, the weather conditions were tricky with rain, providing us with an opportunity to assess the traction of the car.

Around the 10-minute mark, we decided it was time to accelerate, and GP23 passed , even setting the fastest lap of the race at that point. However, at the 15-minute mark, we were overtaken, and it became clear that our pace had dropped. GP23 was now running slower laps than GP21, and by the 28-minute mark, we made the decision to bring the car into the pit.

We spent approximately 9 minutes examining the car, but both electronically and mechanically, everything seemed fine. With no clear issue found, we sent GP23 back onto the track.

For a brief moment, it seemed like all was well, and GP23 even posted the second-fastest lap of the race. However, six minutes later, the car inexplicably slowed down once again. It was at this point that we decided to end the race for GP23. We chose not to push the car to the limit, as it wasn't worth risking any potential damage with the international final on the horizon.

As for GP21, it had a solid race, engaging in a neck and neck battle with during the final 8 laps. Although it was overtaken near the end, GP21 held its own and secured a fifth-place finish.

All eyes are now firmly fixed on the International Finals scheduled for October 8th at Goodwood. It's the moment we've been preparing for, and we're more determined than ever to give it our all.

Our race season couldn't have started out any better! Last Sunday, GP23, our new car, won on debut at Dunsfold, thus marking an historic milestone!

It was an intensely competitive race, with us and in a constant battle for the lead. Whether we were at the front or trailing, the margin between us was consistently razor-thin. We began the race from the back of the grid, and by the conclusion of the first lap, we had already surged into the lead. Yet, in the next lap, Renishaw passed us, and from that moment on, we remained locked in a thrilling duel, never more than 15 seconds apart.

In the end, GP23 came out on top, winning the race with an exciting finish.

Our older car, GP21, had a promising start, but a mechanical problem forced us to retire the car earlier than expected. The issue is now sorted, just in time for the next race!

The excitement continues as we shift our attention to Aintree’s race.
