Sofia Ribeiro

For years, I sang this Chico Buarque song with a Brazilian accent. I learned it that way, and it felt natural, though I always wondered if I might adapt it to a Portuguese accent. A while ago, I shared a post with both versions, asking which one people preferred, and the opinions were divided.

Some songs take their time before you can make them your own. Recently, I began singing it with Manel Ferreira, as a duo with his Portuguese guitar, and everything fell into place: the interpretation felt closer to our roots.
