Today we planted a rare gem at the Orchard of Flavours: Chrysophyllum imperiale!
This majestic tree is native to Brazil’s Atlantic Forest and is critically endangered in the wild. Once valued for its sweet, creamy fruit and beautiful foliage, it has nearly vanished due to habitat loss.

By planting this rare species, we’re helping preserve its future—and highlighting the role of botanical gardens in protecting the world’s edible biodiversity.
