Earth for All – Launch of the Romanian Edition
Bucharest, 20 October 2025
The Romanian Association for the Club of Rome (ARCoR), in partnership with the National Bank of Romania, organized the launch of the Romanian edition of the Club of Rome’s report “Earth4All – Pământul pentru toți” (Earth for All).
The event brought together representatives from academia, business, and the media, who took part in a dialogue dedicated to building a sustainable future for society.
The special guest was Anders Wijkman, Honorary President of the Club of Rome and co-author of the volumes “Bankrupting Nature” and “Come On.” In his speech, he presented the Earth4All report’s call for a profound shift in how we perceive the economy and society: “We must move our benchmarks from GDP growth toward well-being and invest in social cohesion and ecological balance. The true challenge we face is not a technological one, but it is linked to our capacity to build public policies with real social impact.”
Remus PRICOPIE, Secretary General of ARCoR and Rector of SNSPA, emphasized the essential role of universities in this transformation: “Universities have the duty to move beyond disciplinary compartmentalization and theoretical comfort. Either we learn to live together, or we will perish separately.”
Mugur Tolici, Executive Director of ARCoR, underlined that through this initiative, ARCoR joins the path already taken by other national associations of the Club of Rome—connecting global perspectives with local realities through dialogue and concrete action.
Through this event, ARCoR reaffirms its commitment to cultivating a space for reflection and action where science, education, and responsibility converge in support of a sustainable future.

NEW: The EU’s Circular Economy Act is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reset how Europe uses resources and to lead globally on circularity, justice and resilience.
In its official submission to the European Commission, the Materials & Consumption Taskforce calls for:
▶️ Binding material footprint targets by 2028 to keep Europe within planetary boundaries.
▶️ A shift from product-based strategies to system-level transformation of food, housing, mobility and energy.
▶️EU leadership in building a fair and transparent global governance framework for resource use.
“Without addressing material demand and system-level drivers of resource use, the transformation to a truly regenerative circular economy will remain incomplete,” says Taskforce co-chair Anders Wijkman.
