on 19.05.2023 we opened the doors to our very first event. we didn’t even have money to buy tables and chairs. we barely had enough light bulbs for the chandelier. and we definitely completely forgot to buy water for our guests. so tap water it was. and wine. and each other.

a lot of time has passed since then. and a lot has changed. we now own 23 tables and 87 chairs. and a community so big we still struggle to fully grasp it.

in 3 years, Common House grew into more than we ever imagined.

we changed locations. twice. we moved the event space to a 500sqm house with a garden. that was our biggest milestone and we still can’t believe it’s true. we created .atelier, our sister venue. then we moved that one to a new location as well.

sometimes we look around during an event and think: okay. wow. the house is full. it’s filled with people talking to each other. it’s filled with music, flowers, coffee cups, full plates, forgotten umbrellas, dogs walking freely through the rooms like they own the place and at least one person saying “waittttt what’s the history of this gorgeous gorgeous house?”.

and honestly, how lucky are we to witness this?

this house became a home for so many things: markets, dinners, workshops, parties, table installations, pop-ups, photoshoots, exhibitions, concerts and everything in-between. we had so many successful, amazing events. and some fails too.

but through all of it, you were there. the people who came alone and left with new friends. the ones who discovered their favorite local brand here. the ones who kept returning every single month. the ones who trusted us with their ideas, their events, their work, their time. you gave meaning to this place over and over again.

Common House was never meant to be just a venue. it was always about creating context for people to meet, collaborate, celebrate, dance, flirt, create, share ideas and occasionally spend 3 hours at a market after saying “we’ll only stop by for 20 minutes”.

so thank you 💙 to every person that helped this place slowly grow into what it is today.

3 years later, it still feels like we’re only getting started.

message to our community: we need your help 💙

as you already know, during our anniversary edition of Weekend Market we’re hosting a pop-up FLASH TATTOO TAKEOVER by .coseraru × 👀

and together with our friend and favorite collaborator .atanasia, we’re also building a special installation for the space.

we can’t fully reveal the concept just yet, but we can tell you this: it involves a collection of objects, all spray painted in electric blue — our signature color, of course.

and we want those objects to come from you. our community. the people we’re celebrating with this weekend.

so here’s the idea:
bring us one small object that means something to you. something random, nostalgic, funny, weird, beautiful or completely insignificant to anyone else but you.
we’ll turn it electric blue and make it part of the installation for the weekend 💙

PRACTICAL INFO & RULES:
🔵 object should not be bigger than a mug
🔵 lightweight objects only
🔵 surface must be spray-paint friendly (no textile, fur, fluff etc.)
🔵 you must be okay with us painting it electric blue
🔵 you’ll be able to take it back after the event

👉 examples: figurines, toys, lego pieces, cans, utensils, random treasures

HOW TO DONATE:
📍 you can drop your object at our location on Aurel Vlaicu 6 from today ‘til Thursday late evening.
💌 make sure to send us a message beforehand showing us the object and letting us know the day and hour you can arrive for the drop-off.
