The Balkan History Association welcomes Mateusz Kamionka as a new associate member!
Mateusz Kamionka is a political scientist, Doctor of Social Sciences in the discipline of political science and public administration, and an assistant professor at the Department of Polish-Ukrainian Studies at Jagiellonian University. He specializes in Polish-Ukrainian relations, the politics of memory in Poland and Ukraine, as well as the analysis of political awareness and identity among academic youth in Ukraine. He completed studies in political science, management, and international relations in Kraków, and obtained his doctoral degree in 2020 based on research on transformations in the socio-political consciousness of Ukrainian students after 1991. He gained academic experience as an assistant professor at the Pedagogical University of Kraków and as the head of the Pedagogy program at the Józef Gołuchowski Academy of Applied Sciences, as well as at universities in Ukraine – Sumy State University and Kyiv University of Trade and Economics. He has been a visiting professor, among others, in the United States (University of Illinois Chicago) and at Ukrainian universities, as well as a participant in numerous Erasmus+ mobility programs in Europe and the USA. He is a member of international academic associations, scientific journals, and an active participant in academic conferences.
