𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 & 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 – 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 𝗔𝗹𝗽𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗵 💬 ⛰️

Last week, we brought together over 30 inspiring and diverse participants for an evening dedicated to discovering the European Forum Alpbach and the opportunities it offers to young changemakers.

With the scholarship application period now officially open, the event created a space to share insights about the Forum, the experience it offers, and how young Romanians can apply for a scholarship and become part of the Alpbach community. 🌍

We were delighted to welcome guests not only from 🇷🇴 Bucharest, but also partners and friends from Brașov, 🇧🇬Sofia, 🇲🇩 Chișinău, 🇮🇹 Bolzano, and 🇦🇹Vienna, alongside representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Romania and the Embassy of Denmark in Romania 🇩🇰. For some participants, it was their first time hearing about the Forum, while others were already part of the wider Alpbach network. 🌐 🤝

The evening offered the perfect opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, and explore ways to further strengthen European cooperation and shared values.👥 💡

We are grateful to the Austrian Embassy Bucharest for hosting the event and for their continuous support, as well as to BCR and Enery Romania for supporting scholarship opportunities for the next generation of European changemakers. 🙌

🌳 Hike & Talk in Brașov 🤩

What better way to talk about sustainable cities than during a spring walk through one of Romania’s most beautiful ones?! ⛰️

We were thrilled to be joined by Mr. Cristian Macedonschi, who walked with us and shared his vision of what a sustainable city should look like. From the Smart City Brașov concept to practical examples, he gave us an inspiring glimpse into the future of urban living. 🌱

Together, we reflected on how cities are evolving:
➡️ First, we imagined smart cities – driven by data and tech.
➡️ Now, we're beginning to see the rise of cognitive cities – cities that learn and adapt in real-time, putting people at the center.
➡️ The next step? Wise cities – built on inclusion, ethics, and sustainability. 🍀

We also shared experiences and insights from the European cities we live in, exchanging ideas about what works, what still needs to change, and how we can build more sustainable and livable places together. 🫂

is already taking meaningful steps in this direction:
🚍 The first city in Romania with 100% electric public buses
🚦 Smart traffic lights reducing congestion and pollution
🌱 And a growing community that cares about the city’s future.
