We’re proud to announce that a new M-Root DNS root server instance is now hosted at InterLAN-IX in Bucharest.

This installation is the second M-Root instance in Europe, highlighting Romania’s growing role in the global Internet ecosystem.

With this deployment, InterLAN-IX now hosts six of the world’s 13 DNS root servers:
👉 D-Root, E-Root, F-Root, K-Root, L-Root and M-Root – actively contributing to the stability, security, and performance of the global Internet.

By hosting this new instance, InterLAN-IX helps improve DNS performance, reduce latency, and strengthen Internet resilience across Romania and Southeastern Europe.

The InterLAN-IX team is in Chișinău, Moldova for RIPE NCC Days, happening on 18–19 June!

It’s a great chance to meet awesome people from the regional Internet community, share ideas, and talk about all things networking.

It’s been a great experience so far here in Chișinău, with valuable insights and friendly faces all around. ❤️

We’ve just wrapped up two great days at MORE-IP 2025 in Amsterdam!

On June 4–5, the InterLAN-IX team joined peers from across the world to talk networks, interconnection, and all things Internet related.
