: Don’t win the move and lose the board. Gilceava, member of the TechAngels community, explores negotiation and startup building through the lens of Go in an inciting article. Its central idea is that in business, winning every small battle does not necessarily mean winning in the long run.
A hard-won clause may damage the relationship after the contract is signed. A funding round that is too large may create unsustainable pressure for the next stage. Rapid hiring may consume resources before the organization is ready and delaying a necessary pivot may cost more than changing direction early. One of the most relevant principles from Go to which the text is referring is “Give up the small to save the big”, not as weakness, but as strategy.
For founders, investors and anyone building long-term partnerships, this is a useful reminder to step back from the immediate move and look at the whole board.

It’s at TechAngels again 🚀! Almost every Tuesday, founders sit down with one of Romania's largest angel investing community to present what they're building, receive candid feedback, and answer questions from experienced entrepreneurs, executives, angel investors, and VC representatives.
For founders, it's an opportunity to refine their story, challenge assumptions, and potentially meet future investors. For investors, it's an opportunity to stay close to emerging technologies, discover new founders early, exchange perspectives with peers, and continuously build a strong deal flow. Sometimes the most valuable outcome isn't a deal—it's a conversation that changes how you think about a market.
This week's session brings together startups working on AI, the future of frontline work, and strategic manufacturing. Here's what we'll be exploring:
➡️A platform building AI companions that go beyond text chat by combining real-time animation, expressive voice, and persistent memory. The goal is to create digital characters that feel more natural, personal, and engaging across everyday interactions.
➡️A voice-native AI assistant designed for employees who can't rely on screens while they work. By guiding tasks in real time, supporting learning on the job, and helping prevent operational mistakes, it brings AI directly into the flow of physical work.
➡️A company developing and producing electromotors for unmanned aerial vehicles, helping reduce Europe's dependence on imported critical components while supporting growing demand across commercial and defense applications.
Three very different businesses but each solving meaningful problems with technologies designed to strengthen resilience, productivity, and human capability.
➡️If you're building a startup and would like to pitch, or if you're interested in joining TechAngels as an investor, you'll find transparent application forms on our website. Our team reviews every application and follows up with the next steps.
➡️For orientation in your pitch preparation, you may want to follow our roadmap and guidance below.
Every Tuesday reminds us that strong startups are rarely built in isolation and strong investment communities aren't either.

Only one hour left until the at Ventures, in Timisoara.
The event brings together 9 startups from the first Vest Ventures Accelerator cohort, with product demos, pitches and opportunities to connect with founders, investors and ecosystem builders.
We are represented by Curticapean, Board Member of TechAngels as jury member and in the speaker line-up.
➡️ The conversation will look at early-stage startups from several angles: fintech, angel investing, founder readiness and the way investors assess young companies. It will also touch on how AI, risk and better decision-making are starting to influence both founders and investors.
➡️ Our members are constantly supporting the idea that angel investors are contributing not only with finances, but also as mentors, jury members and active voices in the startup ecosystem. And they walk the talk.
➡️ Good luck to all the founders pitching today and congratulations to the Vest Ventures Accelerator team for bringing this cohort together.
