, the first step in an ambitious two-year program has been taken during the , in Brussels. Philea together with Impact Europe want to equip Europe’s philanthropic organisations “with the confidence and context to be able to access larger impact toolboxes”.

? Through events, gatherings, knowledge sharing, data gathering and policy support.

The launch of the program was a , which “underlines the potential of catalytic grantmaking, highlights challenges and opportunities, and points to existing legal or statutory barriers to impact investing”. Called “Philanthropic Organisations Using The Entire Toolbox For More Impact”, a framework on foundation practices and regulatory&policy environment has been set out.

Fundația pentru Dezvoltarea Societății Civile (FDSC) launched a new comprehensive report about the .

A full day for our in Bucharest, where Lev Fejes and Melanie Leșe were present to support our fellow researchers, Daniela Angi & Radu, who were part of the specialised . While Gabriel Badescu moderated the entire discussion.

At first sight, what we love the most is the fact that there is a section dedicated to and how leaders from the sector approach it. However, it saddens us that there is such a lack of impact measurement interest, over a third had little to no inclination in monitoring and/or evaluating their project(s) - as per answers given by NGO leaders. In addition, close to 20% chose not to answer, or felt they could not provide an assessment (see first image/pg. 109 from the report).

Not knowing about how those who benefit from your programs are affected on the long & short term can easily be translated in a lack of clarity for the public (as the study confirms), about what NGO's do and how their presence in affects us all, positively.
