The "Fishermen" statue was made by the sculptor Corneliu Medrea in 1959. It was placed above the promenade of the Casino, in 1960.
The statue shows three fishermen pulling a big load of fish out the of the seawater. The net is very heavy, fact proven by the position of the three fishermen's bodies in their struggle to bring the prey to the shore.
