As customer deliveries as set to commence later this month, McLaren Automotive has continued developing its brand new hybrid supercar this summer, with extreme heat testing throughout USA’s western coast.

An all Carbon Black P1 was subjected to temperatures in excess of 52 degrees Celsius (126 Fahrenheit) through Arizona, California and Nevada, as McLaren is looking to “push the boundaries of all systems and components on track in blistering heat” in order to offer “the best driver’s car on road and track”.

The British manufacturer says it has worked closely with Akebono and Pirelli, who provide the P1 with “the most advanced” braking systems and tires. First deliveries of the McLaren P1 will begin later this month, as the company celebrates its 50th anniversary.
