When we finish the subgingival preparation, one unpleasant situation is to touch the gingiva and proceed with less visibility due to the bleeding.
There are multiple ways to protect the gingiva.
One way is to push the parodontium with an instrument during the finishing procedure. In this case I use the second cord before the impression teflon tape. With teflon tape in place it is possible to do the final finishing procedure with less risk of touching the gingiva and with no risk of removing the cord.
Have you tried this technique?

Diastema closure can be a challenging procedure because we typically face two main issues:
1. Deciding how to distribute the space between the teeth—symmetrically or not
2. Restoring the entire proximal area, from the gingival to the incisal embrasure
In my experience, when the space between the anterior teeth is less than 1.5 mm, I can restore only the proximal area with composite, without significantly altering the tooth’s esthetic proportions—it doesn’t appear too wide.
However, when the space is greater than 1.5 mm, I usually need to add material to the buccal surface as well, in order to reposition the transition lines. In these cases, the restoration essentially becomes a composite veneer.

Proximal reconstruction with metal adjusted matrices are helping me to view better the final volume of the veneer. And if I place all of them at the same time it is even better for previsualisation.
So I reconstruct one proximal surface, remove one matrix, then second, remove the second and so on, also to have a nice contact point.
