✨ Art Deco is an artistic movement from the 1920s - 30s that symbolizes modernity, progress, and the elegance of the interwar period. The name comes from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes (Paris, 1925) and reflects a desire to unify art, design, and industrial production.

Characterized by geometric forms, clean lines, symmetry, and luxurious materials, Art Deco appears in architecture, object design, furniture, graphics, and painting, promoting a sophisticated, urban, and optimistic aesthetic.

In this post, we want to illustrate how Art Deco manifested across different aesthetic fields, from design and painting to architecture, through artists such as Tamara de Lempicka, A.M. Cassandre, Erté, Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, and William Van Alen.
