Virtual reality simulation team

We are honored to announce the participation of Prof. Roberto Mugavero at CongrEMs 2026, President of the European Center for Disaster Medicine (CEMEC), a specialized center of the Council of Europe (EUR-OPA). A world-renowned expert in security and defense, Prof. Mugavero is the Director of the Centre for Security Studies at the University of San Marino and holds prestigious academic positions at top Italian universities and NATO Centers of Excellence in Germany and the Czech Republic. His career blends strategic vision in CBRNe risk management with direct operational experience as a volunteer Officer in the Italian National Fire and Rescue Service.

​His plenary lecture, titled "First Responders Protection in Complex Environments," addresses a critical theme for the safety of those on the front lines of intervention. The session will explore advanced protection mechanisms and risk management in unstable environments, providing participants at this congress with an integrated perspective between cutting-edge research and operational reality.

His vast expertise in coordinating international security and defense programs transforms this presentation into an essential benchmark for understanding how first responders can be effectively protected against modern asymmetrical threats.
