Family Care and Development Initiative is local NGO based in Nyamata, Bugesera District. The NGO was created by a group of caring individuals to support children to live in safe, nurturing family-based care and empower families to support their members and live decent lives. We work collaboratively, with the government, local and international NGOs, academic institutions and other stakeholders, to promote and strengthen family-based care and empower families to strengthen their economic capacity.

With nearly 20 members contributing to resources, we are working to support reintegration of street connected children separated from their families and increase the number of children that are safely and successfully integrated into family care. We do this by advocating for strengthening systems and policies and working directly to provide services to children and families.
