We are happy to announce that the joint health and hygiene project of .rw and Root Foundation Germany has been been completed! 🧱💧📖

Consisting of two phases, the project included the construction of two water tanks, a kitchen, one office, a storage and toilets for girls and women, as well as education on health and hygiene.

As one of the water tanks provides fresh drinking water, the Root Foundation now can ensure access to clean drinking water. Furthermore, a gender-sensitive approach to health and hygiene has been initiated with the girls-only toilets and workshops on female health and sexual and gender based violence.

Overall, this project encourages sustainable development practice and can serve as a positive example of partnership in development projects.

In 2022/23, Lilith completed her voluntary service at .rw and has been active in Root Foundation Germany since her return to Germany. Currently, she studies for a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies.

At RFG, Lilith is primarily responsible for coordinating volunteers. She is also playing a key role in the new health & hygiene project ‘Isuku isoko y’ubuzima bwiza’ (‘Hygiene is the source of good health’), which is co-financed from tax funds on the budget passed by the Free State of Saxony.

Lilith hat 2022/23 ihren Freiwilligendienst in der Root Foundation Rwanda absolviert und ist seit ihrer Rückkehr nach Deutschland in der Root Foundation Germany aktiv. Aktuell studiert sie m Bachelor European Studies.

Lilith kümmert sich vor allem um die Freiwilligenkoordination innerhalb der RFG. Außerdem ist sie federführend am neuen Health & Hygiene-Projekt “Isuku isoko y’ubuzima bwiza” (“Hygiene is the source of good health”) beteiligt, welches mit Steuermitteln auf Grundlage des vom Freistaat Sachsen beschlossenen Haushalts ko-finanziert wird.
