FabLab Rwanda

Driven by its mission to empower communities through innovation, FabLab Rwanda had the privilege of meeting the UNDP Representative in Madagascar, Dr. Edward A. Christow, to discuss the expansion of makerspaces across the country.

The discussions focused on advancing local innovation ecosystems, increasing access to cutting-edge technology, and creating more opportunities for young innovators to transform their ideas into impactful solutions.

FabLab Rwanda is contributing to the establishment of Makerpsaces across Africa, in partnership with UNDP, under the Timbuktoo initiative. It is working to advance innovation ecosystems across Africa through digital fabrication, hands-on learning, and innovation capacity building.

The goal is simple: to give more communities access to tools, skills, and spaces to turn their ideas into real projects and solutions. These makerspaces help people learn by doing, work together, and build products that can solve real challenges in their communities.

Through these efforts, FabLab Rwanda continues to support a growing network of innovation spaces across Africa, helping to create a new generation of African innovators, engineers, and entrepreneurs ready to lead the continent into the future of digital transformation.
