Genocide prevention, peacebuilding and human rights organization. We empower Rwandans with opportunities to become active, critical thinking citizens.

Today, we mark the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. This year marks 80 years since the end of WWII and the Holocaust, and 30 years since the Genocide in Bosnia.

As we honor these milestone, we are reminded that the remembrance should empower us to fight against hatred, and a call to uphold dignity, human rights and justice for all. Let history guide us toward a better future for all.

Advocacy is the heartbeat of progress. From shaping policy to amplifying community voices, we as an organization demonstrate how persistent efforts drive accountability and fairness in governance. Our Executive Director, Nkurunziza Joseph Ryarasa shares how NAR uses advocacy to fuel change in Rwanda in this article:

The Foundation of Accountability and Progress Advocacy is an essential pillar of any dynamic society. Without it, societies risk falling into complacency, allowing those in positions of power to act without accountability.

Today, we welcomed 12 students and 7 instructors from Amsterdam University College conducting a study visit to Rwanda. As part of their peacebuilding study program, they visited our offices to learn more about Rwanda's peacebuilding efforts and NAR's role in fostering sustainable peace and resilience in our communities.

Financial freedom is essential to all people, and especially the youth. Yesterday, in Rubavu District, we joined UTC (Urumuri Talent Center) in launching a savings initiative, dubbed the 'IGICERI' program at Mbugangali Market.

This youth-led savings group has grown from 117 to 600 members, holding 2,000+ shares. Starting with as little as 100 RWF, members are building a culture of saving and community resilience.

During the community event, one individual shared a testimony on how saving money helped her to replace her house roof without any financial strain. Such examples, enforce the importance of young people understanding the importance of financial literary and freedom.

By working with youth, we are fostering financial empowerment and prosperity for all youth.
