Akagera National Park tells one of Africa’s most inspiring conservation success stories.

In 2009, the Rwandan government partnered with the African Parks Foundation to restore the park’s wildlife and ensure harmony with the surrounding communities. Today, Akagera is a thriving Big 5 safari park – home to black and white rhinos, lions, buffalo, elephants, and leopards, alongside grazers like giraffes, zebras, and antelopes.

But it’s more than the wildlife. 🦁 Akagera provides employment to the local community as rangers, guides, and conservationists. Last week, our guests joined rangers in a powerful moment: replacing a lion's collar as part of a critical study to monitor the population’s behavior and health.
