Mozambique has reaffirmed its need for the support of the Rwanda Defence Force (RDF) in addressing security challenges and strengthening its military, while seeking new funding sources after the European Union announced it would no longer finance the mission. Officials say Rwanda’s deployment has played a key role in restoring stability in Cabo Delgado, enabling displaced residents to return home and major economic projects to resume.
