April is Autism Awareness Month… but awareness has never been enough.

What I still see, even now, is how quickly people step back when it’s not their child. That quiet “not my kid, not my problem.”
And it’s almost everywhere… schools, so-called inclusive schools, hospitals, even therapy spaces that should know better.

Meanwhile, parents are carrying everything,
the advocating, explaining, constant fight to be heard. And the kind of mental exhaustion no one really sees.No matter where you are in the world, you don’t get through anything without fighting for your child.

This is my 20th year of talking about autism,
and it still needs to be said, fought because there is no finish line here.
