Abasseya is an archaeological site located in the area of Jebel Barkal (Sudan). The main structure is a Meroitic religious building (II c.BC - AD I c).

Internet has abandoned us this year in Karima. Still, we have managed to sneak out these pictures of the work being done. Inshallah, all will be ready for the big opening on Tuesday!

We are starting our last season in Abasseya. After going year after year to Sudan, since 2012, we can finally say that the work planned for this site is almost done. In this last campaign the objective is to terminate the protection fence, add an explanatory sign and present the place to the community of Karima.
Big thanks for all those who have enthusiastically supported us through the last years!
