تُصيب الأمراض المختلفة ملايين الأشخاص حول العالم، و كان لابد من ايجاد طرق علاج جديدة، للتغلب على المقاومة للعلاجات الحالية.💊💊

🔹إحدى هذه الطرق هي البحث عن أدوية جديدة ،كتلك التي تستهدف اشكال ثانوية في الحمض النووي و تُدعى بال:
Minor groove binders.🧬

🔵 An open lecture from the Pharmaceutical Training Unit

The macromolecule that carries genetic information, DNA, is considered as an exceptional unique target for variety of diseases . 🧬

Over years ,
Infectious diseases affect millions of people around the world🦠 to find anti-infective agents on the lookout, but with the increasing resistance of microbes to available drugs, new ways have been thought and found to overcome this. 💡

🔷Minor groove is the target of a large number of binding agents ( Minor Groove Inhibitors ) that could be instrumental for improvements in the drug design and synthesis . These work by acting on the DNA minor groove with ability to disrupt protein–DNA interactions and have found application in the treatment of many diseases, including cancer, parasitic, bacterial and viral infections.

It can be challenging to stay current with new advances in an effort to understand the nooks and crannies of minor groove binders, and who better to learn it from than the experts themselves?

And who - with his team - managed to develop a natural product classified as "MGB" ( analogue of natural product distamycin ) into an effective drug against bacteria ( Clostridioides difficile) successfully completed phase IIa clinical trials.🤩

Dr. Malik Suliman ٫ Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology, Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy University of Khartoum previously , and currently in Jouf University , with more than twenty years of teaching experience and many research experiences in the field of bioinformatics.

عندما يلتقي علم الأحياء بعلم الإحصاء و الحواسيب ،تنتج

🔹فما هو هذا العلم ،ومن أين تأتي أهميته؟
أدى اكتشاف التسلسل الجيني للأحماض النووية و البروتينات في القرن الماضي إلى إنتاج كمٍ هائل من المعلومات و التسلسلات الجينية المعقدة🧬 التي تحتاج إلى أدوات فعالة لتخزينها و التعامل معها ،و هنا يأتي دور المعلوماتية الحيوية!
التي تستخدم أدوات الحوسبة والتحليل في حفظ و تفسير البيانات الحيوية.

🔹تضع المعلوماتية الحيوية بصماتها على مجالات عديدة منها:المجال البيئي ،والصناعي،تقنية المعلومات ،و الأبحاث ،و
المجالات الصحية و الصيدلانية من اكتشاف الأساس الجيني للأمراض الوراثية و خلال كل مراحل اكتشاف و تطوير الأدوية و أكثر!.

🔹ثم مع تطور الحواسيب و سهولة الوصول إليها، زادت المعلوماتية الحيوية من قدرتنا على فهم و مواجهة التحديات العالمية.

When the science of Biology meets statistics and computer sciences , they yield Bioinformatics !

Bioinformatics science :

🔹With the increasing number of databases and various curated online repositories _ as an unprecedented resources of biological data have been obtained 🧬_ bioinformatics has been a veritable platform for data obtained from various studies to be analyzed .

🔹It is becoming indispensable interdisciplinary field for management of data in modern biology and medicine , functioning in collection, organization, analysis, manipulation, presentation and distribution of biological data to help solve biological problems on the molecular level .

🔹 Regarding pharmacists , Bioinformatics is an essential tool in the pharmaceutical industry’s toolbox. Bioinformatics analyses represents a key guidance to pharmacists and researchers to get substantial information throughout the entire drug discovery and development process, from aiding in the identification and validation of drug targets and leads , through to assessing clinical trials outcomes as well as supporting drug repurposing efforts. Thereby
Bioinformatics researchers have played a quintessential role in pharmaceutical research .
