🌟 Happy Pride 🌟 Today marks 57 years since the infamous uprising that took place at the Stonewall Inn in NYC. Three nights of unrest followed after yet another police raid on the pub in the early hours of the morning of the 28th June 1969. LGBT+ people, long frustrated by police brutality, finally fought back! Today we give thanks to them all. Among the key figures driving this act of resistance we remember how le****ns and trans women of colour stood together on the front line, including - Stormé DeLarverie, Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson. Today, pride demonstrations and celebrations worldwide serve as a reminder of the strength found in solidarity against those determined to divide us.
