Small tattoo but meaningful

Mono no aware is a Japanese aesthetic concept which roughly means “a bittersweet awareness of impermanence”. It describes the gentle sadness but also acceptance that arises when you realize that all beautiful moments, things, and life itself are short and impermanent, but also a stronger appreciation for them because of that.

In Spirited Away, this frame captures that feeling perfectly: sitting on the train, knowing the moment will soon be gone and can never be experienced in quite the same way again.

A bittersweet reminder to be present 🙌
