The truth is, you deserve to be loved by someone who sees you, not by someone who makes you feel alone in a relationship. Someone who admires your small victories and the way you fight your secret battles. Someone who will hold your hand in the middle of a large crowd and not drop it whenever he or she sees familiar faces. Someone who understands the significance of your silence and that will never make you feel less of a human. Someone who will give you confidence and honesty without making you doubt your worth. Someone who will keep you warm and safe on the inside rather than abandoning you in the cold because the circumstance is unsuitable for him/her.
You deserved a love with whom you can be yourself and not hide aspects of yourself in order to fit in. Most importantly, you deserved someone who is as proud of you as you are of yourself. A genuine love that will make sense.

I heard my mother asking the neighbors for salt. But we had salt at home. I asked her why she asked the neighbors for salt. And she replied, 'Because our neighbors don't have a lot of money, and they often ask us for something. From time to time, I also ask them for something small and inexpensive, so they feel that we need them too. This way, they will feel more comfortable and it will be easier to continue asking us for everything they need.'

This is Jim Thorpe. Look closely at the photo, you can see that he's wearing different socks and shoes. This wasn't a fashion statement. It was the 1912 Olympics, and Jim, a Native American from Oklahoma represented the U.S. in track and field.
On the morning of his competitions, his shoes were stolen. Luckily, Jim ended up finding two shoes in a garbage can. That's the pair that he's wearing in the photo. But one of the shoes was too big, so he had to wear an extra sock. Wearing these shoes, Jim won two gold medals that day. This is a perfect reminder that you don't have to resign to the excuses that have held you back.
So what if life hasn't been fair? What are you going to do about it today? Whatever you woke up with this morning; stolen shoes, ill health, failed relationships, failed business, don't let it stop you from running your race. You can experience more in life if you'll get over the excuses and get on with living. You can have reasons or you can have results...but you can't have both.
My friends, may we all strive to keep running in this life no matter what the problem with our shoes (life) may be.
