Help In Change

Our book created to tell the stories of people who fled Ukraine continues its journey across borders.

This time, it travelled to Turkey, where it was received by - a real estate professional who supports displaced Ukrainians and actively helps them rebuilding their lives far from home.

Throughout 2024–2025, Okuvliga / Nezlamni shaped our work profoundly.

We distributed all 500 printed copies to
libraries, educational institutions (including the Stockholm School of Economics), civil society organizations, politicians, members of the Swedish Royal family, and many readers across Europe

The book was shared through voluntary donations - and together with additional support from Help in Change, we donated 50,000 SEK to Beredskapslyftet

These funds now support an educational program helping Ukrainians in Sweden train as care assistants and continue toward becoming assistant nurses — creating pathways to integration, employment, and long-term stability.

And now, the stories continue their journey in Turkey 🤩

Ukrainian Running Club Stockholm has long been uniting Ukrainians around running, running and just living together.

📍 Every Sunday at 10:00 Meetings start on Södermalm - from a cafe where you can catch up, change clothes, go to the restroom and, of course, gorge on a piece of activity

☕️ Distances and paces are always discussed before the start so that everyone is comfortable. You can hop on a 5 km, or a standard circle of ~10 km. All distances are discussable, with joy and with a company.

💬 Coordination via social networks (Instagram, WhatsApp), and sometimes people themselves agree in the comments. Everything else is wonderful and relaxed.

🤝 Cooperation and new formats Recently, the club has already managed to hold a joint run with a language cafe in Sjöholmen - with a shower, clothes and a piece of activity with sandwiches after the run.

Last week, on Tuesday, May 13th, Help in Change participated in an important meeting with Sweden's Minister of Migration at the Asylum and Migration Forum held in Stockholm.

We were the only organization representing the voices of Ukrainians in Sweden, raising critical issues about their rights, opportunities, and future.

Together with other leading organizations such as Amnesty International, the Red Cross, Save the Children, the Church of Sweden, and UNICEF—whose focus was broadly on all asylum seekers—we discussed how Sweden can improve conditions. Help in Change was uniquely focused exclusively on the situation and specific needs of Ukrainians.

We continue advocating for clearer rules and sustainable solutions for Ukrainians in Sweden! 💙💛

Минулого тижня, у вівторок 13 травня, організація Help in Change взяла участь у важливій зустрічі з Міністром міграції Швеції в рамках форуму з питань притулку та міграції, що відбувся у Стокгольмі.

Ми були єдиною організацією, що представляла голос українців у Швеції, підіймаючи питання щодо їхніх прав, можливостей і майбутнього.

Разом з іншими провідними організаціями, такими як Amnesty International, Червоний Хрест, Save the Children, Шведська Церква та UNICEF—які переважно представляли інтереси всіх шукачів притулку—ми обговорили, як Швеція може покращити умови життя та перебування українців. Водночас, Help in Change була єдиною організацією, що фокусувалася виключно на особливій ситуації та потребах саме українців.

Ми продовжуємо виступати за чіткіші правила та стабільні рішення для українців у Швеції! 💙💛

This week, we had the opportunity to donate laptops - generously provided by Instabox and Budbee to House of Ukraine members . These laptops will be used to support educational programs for Ukrainian youth, helping them learn, grow, and build brighter futures.
