It was on this very day that I saw you for the last time… the last time I touched you. It’s been a whole year now, and not a single day has gone by when I haven’t waited for your call. When it didn’t come, I still fought with you in my head—just like always. I got angry the same way I used to, expecting that somehow you’d hear me, like you always did.

I never told you this, but everything people admired or even criticized in me—my confidence, my ego, my attitude—it all came from you. You were the reason I was fearless. There was always one line I’d say when facing anyone:
“If I’m not afraid of my Papaji, then who are you?”

But now… now I feel fear. Whenever I get into an argument, I realize you’re not here anymore—so who do I go to now? Who do I run to with my side of the story? I never thought I’d lose you forever. I always believed you’d be with me. And even if you ever tried to go, I’d argue, fight, stop you somehow—and like always, you’d give in. You always did.

Whenever I neglected myself, you’d get upset and say, “I’m doing all of this for you, and you’re the one who doesn’t even take care of yourself.” In those moments, I’d feel just how deep your love was. It always left me wondering—what kind of love is this? So big, so selfless, so constant. I was always in awe.

I miss you more than words can hold, but I carry you with me—in everything I do, in every fight I win, and in every moment I find the strength you once gave me.
