Jagaban Takes Up the Cry of Unpaid Teachers and Nurses, Promises Payroll Justice

Malta Street, Freetown – 10 February 2026

The Association of Non-Pin Coders Teachers and Nurses paid a courtesy visit to the leading flagbearer aspirant of the All Peoples Congress (APC), Sheikh Alhaji Mohamed ‘Omodu’ Kamara, popularly known as Jagaban, where they were warmly received by the Chairman of the Jagaban Movement, Mr Abass Sesay. During the visit, the association presented the major challenges faced by its members in their respective professions.

The National Co-ordinator of the association of Non-Pin Colders Teachers and Nurses Mr. Abdul Kabia, revealed that the association has over 2,000 registered members, many of whom have worked for more than twenty years without salaries, and appealed for support to be placed on the government payroll. The nurses’ representative, Mrs Hawa Sesay, also highlighted the hardship of working daily to save lives without pay, emphasizing the struggles of meeting family responsibilities under such conditions.
