Appreciating the hard work and dedication of Academic staff on campus

Hard work, resilience, and teamwork are the foundation of true leadership. It’s not about standing above others, but standing with them pushing through challenges, showing up with consistency, and building together. These values have shaped me into the leader I am today not because I am perfect, but because I’m committed to growing with my team and never giving up.

And for the first time in the history of Demsa (Development, Economics and Marketing Students Association) witnessed the most decorated and celebrated event within the Association.

Having served as the longest-serving Secretary General, created platform for me to occupy enviable positions like Auditor General and Chairman of all committees. These positions with the rich knowledge I have inculcated shaped me to serve in the capacity of President of our department.

It is indeed true and affirmative that a political party can serve as a training ground for future politicians, but if that is so, then DEMSA has been much more than that. DEMSA has been a home—a crucible where boys are shaped into men, and where enlightenment, empowerment, and education merge to fuel growth and purpose.

WHAT HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED

Over the years, I have served our beloved DEMSA with enthusiasm and sincerity, with not even a shadow of doubt in my heart. All praises to those who laid the solid foundation we now build upon. To our former leaders, I give my special accolades you embodied everything this association stands for.

Before I assumed office, I was fully aware of the challenges ahead. I knew that rekindling the spirit of enthusiasm among students would require vision and action. And so, to honor the hardworking students of this great department, I introduced a series of initiatives:
• To start with, Every student within Development, Applied Economics, Economics, and Marketing was certified and celebrated during their convocation as a gesture of appreciation from the Association.
• I rebranded our department regalia that includes new ID cards, customized hand bands, and for the first time ever, two iconic departmental jerseys that now speak boldly of our identity.
• I facilitated a collaborative football match with our sister Association, ABSA, strengthening camaraderie and unity.
• We revived our traditional campus cleaning exercises, a testament to our commitment to service.
• I worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between students and the executive board by creating platforms for communication, collaboration, and shared leadership.
• And today, you are part of this history witnessing the first-ever DEMSA Academic Excellence Awards, an initiative born from a simple but powerful idea: to celebrate ourselves.

WHY THIS EVENT:

This Awards Night is not merely a ceremony. It is a movement. A celebration of the diversity in leadership a theme that is more than a slogan. It is our mission. It is a call to recognize that no matter our backgrounds, our ideas, or our methods, we can lead best when we lead together.

Finally, I thank you all deeply most especially my dynamic team, The DEAN of Social Sciences, HOD, Mr. DANIEL, Mr. Johnson and other for your presence, your support, and your faith in this dream.
