I take action by engaging others through my organisation Concerned Generation Network

Globally, more than 246 million children are subjected to gender-based violence in or around schools every year. This, to us at Concerned Generation Network , is a violation of their human rights, and a form of gender-discrimination that has far-reaching physical, psychological and educational consequences.
According to UN Women, if schoolrelated gender-based violence is not eliminated in and around schools across the world, many of the ambitious targets set by the global community through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), like to providing safe and supportive learning environments, to ending violence against children in all settings and to achieving gender equality and eliminate violence against women and girls, will not be realized and that is where our action comes in to speak up, to not look away and to act against abuse.
Our 16 Days of activism against Gender Based Violence in Schools form a core principle of the transformative Agenda 2030 for sustainable development, consisted with several SDGs like SDG 4 which is quality education for all persons including girls by ensuring inclusive and equitable quality of education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all in an environment where there is no violence and discrimination.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have joined the world in making our voices heard especially in relation to Gender-Based Violence.
There can be no safer place in our communities if we keep silent about GBV. This year, with special sponsorship from Leone Rock Metal Group- Sierra Leone , we keep engaging schools and school authorities to take action to end school based GBV. We believe that a meaningful progress in the educational sector cannot be made in the exclusion of the harmful Violences in the schools.
As we continue to engage stakeholders towards ending GBV, we remain very particular about our organisational theme for this year " Speak Up, Don't Look away, Act against Abuse ". We believe that everyone can play a part and no-one needs to look away in the fight against GBV.
