‼️National Jubilee Pilgrimage of Hope( 2025)‼️

The Catholic Bishops in Sierra Leone have announced a significant spiritual event—the National Pilgrimage to Mile 91 on 21st November 2025 as part of the Jubilee Year of Hope proclaimed by Pope Francis. This pilgrimage is a call to faith, unity, and renewal, inviting Catholics and people of goodwill to deepen their trust in God’s mercy and pray for peace in Sierra Leone and the world.

Pope Francis declared the period from Advent 2024 to Epiphany 2026 as a Jubilee Year of Hope, themed “Pilgrims of Hope.” In a world troubled by war, climate crises, and lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Holy Father however emphasized the need for spiritual conversion, reconciliation, and hope in God’s promises. Following this call, the Catholic Bishops of Sierra Leone, in their June 2025 meeting, chose Mile 91 a central location in the country—as the pilgrimage site.

The event will aim at Strengthening faith and unity among Catholics.
Promote national cohesion and peace in Sierra Leone and encourage personal and communal conversion through prayer and pilgrimage.

This National Jubilee Pilgrimage is more than an event—it is a movement of faith and hope for Sierra Leone. By walking together as “Pilgrims of Hope,” Catholics and their fellow citizens can renew their trust in God’s mercy and contribute to a more peaceful nation. The Bishops, led by Archbishop Edward Tamba Charles call for full participation and assure the faithful of their prayers for a successful and grace-filled pilgrimage.
