Our Story

NAHDA Human Development Association is a national non-profit making and non- governmental organization founded in April 2011 and subsequently registered under
The Banadir Regional administration, NAHDA is also registered in Local authority of Hiran and middle shabelle region.
The purpose is to provide sustainable livelihoods intervention opportunities to support the most vulnerable communities both in the urban and rural areas of South-Central Somalia consequently will have access to better education, adequate primary health care, and employment opportunities, respect the ideals of human rights, peace, good-governance and eventually improved sustainable community development.

NAHDA Human Development Association is well poised to tackle the humanitarian crisis arising of internally displaced people through its community based social services targeting the youth, women, IDPs and poor rural community, as well as promoting the creation of employment opportunities and income generation projects to reduce the levels of poverty and contribute to National Development Goals.

NAHDA’s mandate is to address the needs and issues facing the most vulnerable and marginalized groups in society, mainly young people, women, children and internally displaced persons; NAHDA does this through community mobilization, capacity building and policy advocacy.
NAHDA’s operations are designed to meet the needs of the affected people of all categories, the marginalized and the oppressed. NAHDA supports initiatives from beneficiaries to promote their lives.
