Office of First Lady removeed Board Chairperson at Concern for Women and Children.

Juba, South Sudan — The Matron of Concern for Women and Children, Mama Mary Ayen Mayardit, has dismissed the Chairperson of the Board of Directors, Mrs. Mary Nyawulang.

According to a letter seen by the media, the decision was formally communicated; however, no reason was provided for the removal of the Chairperson from her position.

The development is understood to fall within the routine administrative processes of the organization.

Warrap State Assembly Passes Girl Child Education Bill into Law

The Warrap State Reconstituted Transitional Legislative Assembly (WS-RTLA) has passed the Girl Child Education Bill into law during its 29th ordinary sitting.

The legislation is aimed at strengthening and promoting access to education for girls across the state, in an effort to address barriers that have historically limited their participation in schooling.

According to Mark Anei, an MP representing SPLM-IO, the passage of the bill marks an important step toward improving education standards and advancing gender equality in Warrap State. He welcomed the decision, noting its potential to transform the future of the girl child through increased educational opportunities.

Lawmakers also emphasized that, despite the bill’s passage, the August House will remain actively engaged in monitoring its implementation. They stressed that all concerned stakeholders will be required to ensure effective enforcement of the law.
The development is seen as a significant milestone in the state’s ongoing efforts to prioritize education and protect the rights of girls.
