A passenger travelling from Wau to Juba demanded to pay unverified or unauthorised 1,000 SSP by Kush Airlines authorities, this act of exploitation raises a concern of who are custodian of the taxes collected at the Airport by the private airlines companies in Wau?
According to what he wrote on his official page, Maker Mangar appeals to citizens and Juba aviation Office to cease this dismissive act at the Wau Airport with urgency. More details below:

"Demand of Mandatory payment of SSP 1,000 by passengers boarding via Kush Airlines in Wau"

Today, as I handed over my ticket for clearance for my flight from Wau to Juba, I was both baffled and frustrated by what Kush Airlines employees, led by their manager, were doing.

All passengers were told to pay a mandatory fee of SSP 1,000. When I asked what the payment was for and whether the Juba office was aware of such practice, I was met with intimidation. I was simply told: “Do you want to board or not?” When I insisted for an explanation, I got the same dismissive answer. Mind you, the cost of ticket is USD 160

Yajama, has corruption really reached this point in our country? Imagine how much money this so-called manager is collecting daily.

This has to stop. We can’t keep normalizing these illegal charges. I’ve never seen people forced to pay for “nothing” just to access a service they’ve already paid for.
