In the context of escalating violence and bloodshed in the region, Spaces for Cultural Intersection stands in solidarity with Lebanon and its people, and all those who are experiencing the weight of this harsh reality, and the loss, fear, and anxiety it brings for life and the future.
We pray for the souls of the victims, share the grief and pain of their families and loved ones, and stand alongside individuals, families, and communities facing loss, displacement, and uncertainty today, as well as with artists and cultural workers, and cultural and civil institutions that strive—despite everything—to maintain spaces for life, meaning, and expression.
We believe that protecting human life must remain the foremost value. In times of violence, culture becomes an act of care, memory, and quiet resistance against cruelty and forgetfulness. When life is threatened, listening to one another, holding on to empathy, and defending human dignity become a shared responsibility.
We believe that art and culture can keep human connections alive and create spaces of solidarity that transcend borders, fear, and polarization. For this reason, we stand today with everyone who strives to continue, who creates meaning amidst pain, and who insists on life.
Spaces for Cultural Intersection extends its solidarity to all those affected, to every voice seeking peace and justice, and to a future where life can be lived with dignity and safety.
