The two systems

By Nkosingiphile Seyama – SFDF Secretary General

Democracy loving Swazis have been fighting to claim their birthright that has been stolen from them since the 1980s. Since then, they royal supremacy and Tinkhundla regime are forced to to surrender political power and natural resources be enjoyed by all
When addressing the Nation on the 10th of December, the President of SFDF Comrade Busi Mayisela emphasised the position of the organisation on social issue. We are Social Democrats and as such, it is prudent that we capacitate our people about the TWO SYSTEMS

Capitalism
Capitalism can be explained as the exploitation of man by another man. In a capitalist society, the land, the natural resources and the industries, built up by the hands of the workers, belong to private owners or companies. Those who own the means of production are producing not for the public good but for their private profit. They pay as little wages as they can and want to take as much as possible for themselves.
For instance, we have several factories in Matsapha. Their owners are not worried about our sisters wearing old apparel even though there are the ones making the same clothing. They want to make a lot of money, as a result, they supply the same clothes to franchises owned by the capitalist who charged exorbitant prices so that only the elite can afford . All the profits made by these factory owners comes out of the exploitation of Swazi people. This is ironic because the Chinese people owning the factories come from a socialist state(China) and their country has no ground to exploit people.

Socialism
On the contrary, in socialist states, the people come first (Swazis First). All the means of production, the land, the mines, factories and so on belong to the people as a whole. Production is planned and the aim is to see that everyone gets good food to eat, clothes to wear and houses to live in. The primary aim of socialist is ensuring that people are happy and comfortable. Socialists also encourage education. Karl Marx noted the importance of education. People do not get educated for their personal growth, they get educated for the betterment of the country as a whole in a socialist state. Inequality is almost impossible. The country goes ahead quickly because development is properly planned.

The SFDF believes that Swazis should be resolute and know how they want to be governed in the new Swaziland. We don’t want a Swaziland that will have characteristics of the same regime we are confronting on daily basis. Amandla!!!!!!
