RLC Eswatini | Alum of the Week

This week, we proudly celebrate Meluleki Simelane, a visionary sports leader whose dedication is helping shape the future of swimming in Eswatini and inspiring young people through the power of sport. 🏊‍♂️🇸🇿

Meluleki serves as a Technical Official under World Aquatics, where he contributes to raising officiating standards and strengthening the development of competitive swimming in the country. His commitment to excellence goes even further as he actively works on developing a technical officials curriculum for swimming in Eswatini, an initiative aimed at professionalising the sport and building a sustainable pipeline of qualified officials.

Driven by a passion for youth development and water safety, Meluleki is the founder and owner of Pelicans Swimming Club. Through the club, he provides swimming lessons and training opportunities for swimmers of all ages and abilities. His work is opening doors for young athletes, promoting water safety, and ensuring that more communities gain access to the life-saving and life-changing skill of swimming.

Beyond the pool, Meluleki also serves as the Public Relations Officer of Moneni Pirates, where he plays a vital role in strengthening communication, building supporter engagement, and elevating the club's public image.

As an alumnus of the Regional Leadership Center Southern Africa under the Young African Leaders Initiative, Meluleki continues to demonstrate what leadership in action truly means — using sport as a powerful platform for youth empowerment, community development, and national impact.

His journey is a powerful reminder that leadership, passion, and service can transform communities and inspire the next generation of champions.
