As we continue our intensive multi-stakeholder tour to evaluate ongoing infrastructure development in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
Today’s focus is on national energy security and mega-projects, with a key site visit to the Lower Maguduza Hydropower Project in Sidvokodvo. This massive E1.3 billion run-of-river project on the Great Usuthu River is a major milestone for Eswatini, designed to increase local power generation capacity by 20% and advance national climate resilience.

Our joint delegation, comprised of The Registration Council for Architects, Engineers, Surveyors and Allied Professionals (AESAP), The Construction Industry Council Eswatini - CIC and Construction Industry Development Board - CIDB (South Africa) is auditing compliance, quality assurance, and engineering standards on-site to ensure the project meets strict regulatory codes for safety and excellence.
