English grammar

What is English grammar?
Grammar is defined as an analysis of the various functions that the words of a language play as these words are used by native speakers or writers. It is also the system of rules and regulations by which words are formed and put together to make or build meaningful sentences. Then, grammar deals with rules called upon by individual learners while speaking a/ writing in a particular language. Any spoken or written form of language has some regulations specific to it that learners use according to accepted standards or norms of correctness. This means that every language is governed by some norms that make it different from other languages. Likewise, English language has its own rules and norms and before one masters and uses it correctly, these norms should be studied through its grammar. Therefore, the study of English grammar should not be taken for granted in the sense that it will help students, professionals, learners, and anyone willing to speak or write in the language to improve the quality of their spoken or written form of English language. Hence, it will help them build good and meaningful sentences in English, speak well and be understood by their listeners/ audience.
