Here's just a little bit of fun! My mate St**fy aka "Steve Leader" and I recorded this cover a few years ago. He tracked guitar and bass and I played the drums (one pass) in my bare bones studio.

I never got around to singing it properly.

If you've been keeping up with my recent posts you'll know I've been battling chronic and extremely bothersome tinnitus.

After two years essentially not singing I felt it was time to get the throat working again.

So I thought, why not just get some vocals done for this cover!?!? People heard it "back in the day" and I've been asked over the years to get some vocals done... better late than never.

This is by no means a pro mix or release. It was purely for the joy of letting rip on the mic again!

I miss this man more than words can express.

I've been cleaning up my studio PC ready to finalise new release and I just randomly found this little gem of a forgotten memory!

It's my mentor and best mate John. He was dancing to Lou Bega "Mambo Number 5" while we were hanging in his studio (the place I unknowingly did my apprenticeship in audio engineering).

Although he's no longer with us. I feel close to him everytime I'm in my studio.

John would try and teach younger me the "How to" in recording...

"I don't need to learn, I have you!" I would say. His reply "I'm not always going to be here though" didn't seem believable... it still doesn't.

It turns out John was Jedi Mind tricking me and forcing his knowledge onto me without me knowing! So, even now with him no longer with us. John 's still making music.
