The learning continues as Mr. Edu G. Macabatas, Tagum City Youth and Sports Development Officer, shared his experiences and insights as one of the city’s key leaders in advancing youth development.

His discussion highlighted the legal foundations and policy provisions that guide youth development work, while also emphasizing the roles, functions, and shared responsibilities of the Youth Development Office, the Youth Development Council, and the Sangguniang Kabataan.

Through his session, participants were reminded that youth development is not merely a program, but a mandate anchored on law, accountability, and the continuing responsibility to create spaces where young people can lead, participate, and be heard.

Day 2 of the GoodGov Academy x Ready, Set, Win! opened with an insightful and energy-filled discussion led by Ms. Rhoda Mae Ebad, 49th SSEAYP - Batch Bagani Alumni and SK Chairperson of Alabel, Sarangani Province.

Drawing from her own journey in youth leadership, Ms. Ebad shared the personal, political, and practical realities of serving as an SK leader, emphasizing that public service requires both courage and clarity of purpose.

Her session also highlighted the importance of understanding governance beyond titles and positions, reminding aspiring community leaders that leadership begins with the willingness to listen, learn, and serve with accountability.

As the participants continue their GoodGov Academy journey, Day 2 sets the tone for deeper conversations on leadership, campaign readiness, and the real responsibilities that come after choosing to serve.
